The MagPul Back-Up Sight (MBUS) designed for AR15 rifles has an ambidextrous switch / release and locking system The flip-up sights are spring loaded to go to the open (up) position. When the lock is opened the sight will flip up into place and as the lock is released it locks the sight into place. To release the sight and put it in the down position press down on either side of the ambidextrous lever with your thumb and fold the sight down until it locks.
